Smart Door Locks

Codes, tags and fingerprints instead of keys.

Smart locks fitted to your existing doors, for homes, short-stay rentals and business premises. Installed anywhere in South Africa.

The problem

A key that goes missing means re-keying every lock it opened. Somebody always needs to be home to let the cleaner in. Children arrive back from school before anyone else does. And there is no record of who came and went.

What we install

  • Code entry — a different code per person, changed or revoked from your phone in seconds.
  • Fingerprint and tag readers — for the people who use the door daily and should not have to remember anything.
  • App control — lock, unlock and check the door status from wherever you are.
  • Temporary and scheduled access — a code that works on Tuesdays only, or expires on Friday.
  • Entry log — who opened the door and when, without having to ask anyone.
  • Mechanical key override — on every lock we fit, without exception.

Pricing

From R2 565 per smart lock.

What a specific door costs depends on the lock specified, your door type and thickness, and whether the existing hardware can be reused. We quote in writing per door once we have seen them, so you know what each one costs before committing to the rest.

How it works

  1. Site visit — we check your door types, thickness, frames and existing hardware. Not every lock suits every door, and this is the step that avoids the wrong lock arriving on site.
  2. Written quote — priced per door.
  3. Installation — fitted and tested, usually within a couple of hours per door.
  4. Handover — we set up your app, create your first codes with you, and show you how to add and remove people yourself.
  5. Support — phone and WhatsApp during business hours, Monday to Friday.

What happens if it fails?

The question that matters when it is dark and you are standing outside.

  • Mechanical key override on every lock. There is always a physical way in.
  • Offline codes. Codes live on the lock itself, so they keep working when the wifi is down. You lose remote code changes, not entry.
  • Load-shedding. The locks run on their own batteries and are unaffected by an outage.
  • Low-battery warnings well before the battery dies, plus an external power point on most locks so a flat battery is never a lockout.

Common questions

Can it go on my existing door?
Usually. It comes down to door thickness, material and the existing lock. We confirm on the site visit rather than after ordering.

What if the battery dies while I am out?
You get warnings well in advance. If it still happens, most locks take an external power bank at the door, and there is always the mechanical key.

Can I give someone temporary access?
Yes — a code for a day, a week, or specific hours on specific days.

Is a code less secure than a key?
A code you can change instantly is more controllable than a key you cannot get back. You also get a record of every entry, which a key never gave you.

Can it work with the rest of the house?
Yes. Locks can trigger lights or scenes on entry — see Your Home.
