The problem

Getting out of the car in the rain. A remote that works from three metres away on a good day. A delivery driver standing at the gate with no way to reach you. Domestic staff and contractors who need a remote each, and a gate that has to be opened by somebody physically at home.

What we install

• Gate and garage automation — sliding gates, swing gates and garage doors, motorised and brought onto an app.
• Phone control — open and close from anywhere with a signal, not just from the driveway.
• Video intercom — see and speak to whoever is at the gate, from your phone, and open for them if you choose to.
• Per-person access — staff, family and contractors on their own access rather than a shared remote that goes missing.
• Entry notifications and log — know when the gate opened and who opened it.
• Driveway and perimeter lighting — lights that come on when the gate does, tied into your lighting scenes.

How it works

1. Site visit — we look at your gate, its motor if it has one, the power at the gate and whether your wifi reaches that far. Gate-end connectivity is where most of these installs succeed or fail.
2. Design — what needs replacing versus what can be automated as it stands, plus cabling and any backup power.
3. Written quote — gate, intercom and lighting priced separately so you can choose.
4. Installation — motor, intercom and controls fitted and tested.
5. Handover — app set up for everyone in the household. Phone and WhatsApp support during business hours, Monday to Friday.

What happens if it fails?

• Manual release on the gate motor, so the gate can always be opened by hand.
• Your existing remotes keep working. App control is added alongside them, not instead of them.
• Load-shedding — battery backup on the gate motor is standard practice and we will quote it plainly. A gate that will not open in an outage is not a functioning gate.
• Network down — local control and remotes carry on. You lose remote opening and the video feed until it is back.

Common questions

Can you automate my existing gate?
Often yes. It depends on the gate, the track and the existing motor. We establish that on the site visit before quoting.

What happens during load-shedding?
With battery backup the gate keeps working through an outage. Without it, you use the manual release. We will tell you what backup costs.

Can I let someone in while I am away?
Yes, that is the main reason people do this. You see them on video and open for them from your phone.

Can my domestic staff have access without a remote?
Yes, on their own code or app access, which you can change or revoke yourself.

Will the intercom reach the gate on my wifi?
That is exactly what we check on the site visit. Where it will not, we quote the fix rather than installing something that will frustrate you.
