The problem

Automation decisions get made last, once the walls are closed and the plaster is on. By then the cheap options are gone and what is left is surface trunking, wireless workarounds, or chasing walls that were painted last week. The cost of getting it wrong is not the hardware. It is the rework.

What you get

• Site assessment — we walk the property or the plans, check wiring, distribution boards, wifi coverage, window types and door hardware, and tell you what will actually work.
• Cable routes and device layout drawings — where every switch, panel, sensor, camera and speaker goes, marked up so a contractor can work from it.
• Network and power requirements — what each position needs, where the cabinet lives, and what backup power the critical items require.
• A written phased quote — broken into stages so you can start with one area and expand later without redoing work.
• A handover pack for your electrician — so the rough-in is right the first time and nobody is guessing on site.

How it works

1. First conversation — what you are building, what stage you are at, and what you want the finished house or building to do.
2. Site or plan review — on site if it is standing, on the drawings if it is not.
3. Design — layouts, routes and requirements documented.
4. Written phased quote — with what is essential to do now versus what can be added later.
5. Handover — to you, and to your electrician or builder, with us available while they rough in.

For architects, builders and electricians

If you are specifying or building for a client, we are happy to work behind you. We will do the assessment, produce drawings your electrician can build from, and stay out of your client relationship. Most of our best work comes through people who send us the same clients twice.

Common questions

How early should we involve you?
Before first fix, ideally at plan stage. The cheapest automation decisions are the ones made before anything is in the wall.

Do we have to use you for the installation?
No. The design is yours. Plenty of clients take the drawings and have their own electrician do the rough-in, then bring us back for commissioning.

What if the house is already built?
Then this stage matters even more, because it establishes what can be done without opening walls. A lot can.

Does the design cost come off the install?
Ask us when we quote. Tell us the scope and we will be straight with you about how it is priced.

Can you work from architect drawings?
Yes. Send them through and we will mark them up.
