Monitor Audio is the premium end of the four audio brands we work with. If the room matters — a listening room, a dedicated cinema, a living space where the sound has to match the finish — this is usually the specification. Installed anywhere in South Africa.

Who it suits

Homeowners building or renovating who want the audio designed in rather than added afterwards. Architect-led and interior-designed homes where visible boxes are a problem. Anyone who has heard a properly driven pair of speakers and cannot go back.

If you want music in the kitchen and the patio and you are not going to sit and listen to it, say so — Polk will do that job honestly and you can put the difference into more rooms. We would rather tell you that than oversell you.

Where you are buying from

We are certified installers, and a dealer for Monitor Audio through Homemation, their South African distributor. Your speakers come through official distribution with the warranty and support intact — not grey imports, which matters more on equipment at this level than at any other.

The ranges we fit

• Platinum 3G — the flagship. Platinum 300 and 200 floorstanders, and the C250 centre for cinema. This is reference-level, and it needs a room and amplification that deserve it.
• Gold 6G — Gold 500 and 300 floorstanders, Gold 100 bookshelf, in Black Gloss, Satin White and Macassar. The range most of our clients land on: serious performance, finishes that work in a modern interior.
• Cinergy — the cinema range, including the Cinergy 200 and matching subwoofers, for dedicated home cinema rooms.
• Anthra subwoofers — W10, W12 and W15, sized to the room rather than to the brochure.
• In-ceiling and architectural — for installs where the speakers should be heard and not seen.

What an install involves

1. Site visit — we look at the room, not just the plan. Dimensions, surfaces, seating position and where the cable can realistically run all change the answer.
2. Design — speaker positions, amplification to match, cable routes and power. If you are still building, this is the stage that saves you money and regret.
3. Written quote — speakers, amplification and installation itemised separately so you can see where the money goes and adjust.
4. Installation — cabling, mounting or building-in, and connection to your Denon amplification or WiiM source.
5. Commissioning — positioning and level-matching done by ear in the actual room. Speakers of this calibre set up carelessly will sound worse than cheaper ones set up properly.

Common questions

Do I need Monitor Audio in every room?
Almost certainly not. A common and sensible specification is Monitor Audio in the main listening or cinema room and Polk through the rest of the house, all driven from the same system.

Can they be hidden?
Yes — the in-ceiling and architectural ranges are built for exactly that. There is a performance trade-off against floorstanders and we will be straight with you about it.

What amplification do they need?
It depends on the model and the room. Under-driving good speakers is the most common mistake we are called in to fix. We size the amplification to the speakers, not to the budget left over.

Can I start with two speakers and build up?
Yes, and for cinema that is often the right order. We design so the next stage does not mean replacing the first.

Do you supply as well as install?
Yes. And if you have already bought elsewhere, we will still install and commission it.
